Blew up my futures account and lost my savings - how did you come back from it?

Hi all,

The title covers it: crypto futures have taken a serious amount of money off me. Some of you have probably been through the same thing. What I am asking about is how you recovered from it.

Early on I was up enormously - around 1000% - and now I am at zero. Mostly BTC, ETH and SOL futures; I never touched meme coins. About 5K USDT is gone, which is a lot for me. I started from 500 USDT. To some people that is nothing, but it was my savings.

Beginner's luck, probably. There were really only two mistakes: I ran 50x, and I held it overnight. I woke up to nothing.

For those who have been here - how did you deal with it, and how did you rebuild?

I'm sorry - losing savings is a different kind of pain from losing a trading budget, and the two get talked about as if they were the same thing.

The one thing I'd say about recovery, from my own three years of it: the attempt to win it back is usually the second loss, and it is normally larger than the first. Mine was. The size that felt "necessary to catch up" was never a size I would have chosen on a calm day, and the market has no memory of what I was owed.

The +1000% at the start is worth sitting with too. It taught you that the account can move that fast, and 50x overnight is the same lesson pointed the other way - the leverage that produced the first number produced the second. Nothing about it says you can't trade; it says the size was never survivable.

I'd take the time before doing anything at all. There is no schedule you have to be on.
